  • Blue Phantom’s Gen II Central Line Ultrasound Training Model with Auto Pump incorporates all the anatomy required for training clinicians to teach, learn and practice the psychomotor skills associated with ultrasound guided or blind insertion central line placement training
  • Clinicians can utilize traditional external landmarks to perform complete central line placements of the internal jugular and subclavian vein – including needles, guidewires, dilation and threading of catheters
  • This ultrasound training model is constructed using Blue Phantom’s patented SimulexUS™ ultra-durable SimulexUS™ tissue and produces extremely realistic ultrasound images. The materials used matches the acoustic characteristics of actual human tissue so the user experiences the same quality expected from imaging patients in the clinical environment. Uncompromising quality allows clinicians to utilize the model repeatedly reducing the need for replacement parts
  • Ultrasound imaging skills include: using ultrasound system controls, transducer positioning and movement, recognition of arterial and venous anatomy, using ultrasound to target the appropriate vessels for cannulation, and performing a central venous access procedure


  • This adult male upper torso central line mannequin also includes internal landmarks such as the trachea, suprasternal notch, manubrium and clavicle
  • Venous anatomy includes the internal jugular vein (IJ), brachiocephalic vein, subclavian vein and axillary vein
  • Arterial anatomy includes carotid artery, subclavian artery and axillary artery
  • The simulated superior vena cava, right atrium and right ventricle offer users the ability to fully thread guidewires, dilators and catheters without resistance
  • The model can be accessed via the internal jugular (IJ), subclavian, infraclavicular and supraclavicular approach as well as the axillary vein
  • Veins are compressible using mild pressure while the arteries remain uncompressed
  • Blue Phantom Ultrasound Central Line training model constructed utilizing the innovative LifeCast™ modelling approach. The external landmarks were cast from a live human while the internal anatomy is based on digital human files
  • Internal anatomy can be viewed through the optional Transparent Insert (ABP052) as well as with any ultrasound system

  • The hand pump can be manually compressed by a secondary user or instructor creating expansion and contraction of the arterial vessels
  • Venous system is prefilled with blue fluid and the arterial system is prefilled with red fluid
  • Positive fluid flow in the vessels provides users with immediate feedback when the vessels are accessed
  • Venous and arterial fluid removed during central venous catheter procedures can be easily refilled by using the provided QuickFill™ ports or and I.V. bag to continually refill the vessels during training
  • Auto pump model utilizes low voltage universal power supply
