- If during intubation too much pressure is applied through a laryngoscope, to the upper incisors, an audio signal is heard
- The correct location of the tube, inserted after intubation, may be confirmed by audible respiratory sounds through a stethoscope (not supplied) lateral to the left or right wall of the thorax
